He is 8 weeks old and has been with me in his new home for 2 days now.

What a bundle of puppy energy. And he is smart. Knew his name by the end of the first day. Knew how to escape to the next room through small gaps, which have now been closed.

Today was his first long mini walk (around the corner) where he met the fellow dog walking group (all vaccinated and dogs I know). He loooved it!

This is Willow this afternoon in the backyard. Oh my.....! He is a bundle of energy and mischievous ,as mini poodles are - and also quite head strong. And he is loveable, smart, sweet and a very happy dog.

We are just at the point of being housebroken..crossing my fingers.... And that has taken up a lot of my time. All in a good puppy way as they grow so quickly. Willow is his own doggy with a completely different personality than Boucle. So we are both getting used to each other.

Photos with him have been a challenge as he doesn't want to sit still in case he misses something and when I have the camera he ends up at the bottom of my feet. A big case of FOMO (fear of missing out :)).

Today I picked up my new camera. Traded the Nikon Z6ii for the Nikon Z6iii. Did this particularly because of the improved AF for moving objects. I can say, after just shooting this afternoon a bit that the AF is fabulous.

It even has eye animal detect, which is great. Still getting used to it. That eye animal detect is looking for round spots, and with Willow having so many curls. and being all brown, when his eyes are sort of turned away, the camera thinks his poodle curls are eyes. Ha! :) !!

But it is a wonderful upgrade and I hope it inspires me to start taking photos again. Especially since I am starting to have more free time since the intense puppy housebreaking period is hopefully over.

He loves drinking the early morning dew droplets off the grass. He will walk along, with his head bent.....and one thinks he is sniffing. Nope. He is licking the dew drops. From any and all grass when on walks.

I don't use fertilizer or pesticides on my property, so it is ok I guess.
But.... on walks, when he bends down to sniff, he will try to lick the grass. So I try to keep him off the really well kept lawns, and allow him on the weedy lawns, because I hope they are not putting any chemicals on the lawn.

It is one of Willow's quirks. Don't know how to counter it.

Yesterday was a big day for Willow. He had the big snip.

He is a trooper as you would hardly know that he had surgery. Very energetic today, despite the cone when I can't watch him.

Here he is enjoying a chew this morning.
