We drove down this straight away and noticed this female American Kestrel battling the crazy powerful wind. How she was able to clutch her prey and cling onto the post was mind boggling. She remained there for some excellent views and shots. Once she fully raised her wings I had clipped too much of it.

We watched several of these guys out in the field hunting for prey. This one was on a post to our right. We anticipated the flight shot as we waited in our car.

We noticed a very high count of Red-tailed Hawks this year. This one was busy scanning the fields for prey. The background was snowy mountains.
