Morecambe seems to me to be a traditional English seaside town, dating from the middle of the 19th century, when the railways arrived. This opened up the town to factory workers from Yorkshire. At one point, there was a large railway station on the seafront and two traditional seaside piers. But these have all now gone. Nonetheless, Morecambe remains attractive to many people with its seafront, its range of shops, and the beautiful views across Morecambe Bay.

The stage was at the bottom of the hill on the flat area. The field, of course, was wall to wall people. If you look closely in the field, you can see a peace sign mowed into the lawn. The property also includes a wonderful museum and another stage area devoted to current outdoor concerts.
