The Sculpture “Mother and Child” at Central Square
The Sculpture symbolizes the concept of “One Country Two Systems”. This steal monument was erected in 1997 to commemorate the return of sovereignty of Hong Kong from Britain to China, the Motherland, on 1st July 1997. It was unveiled by the Secretary of Justice, Miss Elsie Leung Oi See.
Treasures collected from teachers and students are contained in the time capsule buried under the sculpture.
