The Okotoks glacial erratic is one of the must see geological/glacial features in Southern Alberta. The Cambrian conglomeratic quartzite was carried on a glacier from the Jasper area hundreds of miles away. There are indian petroglyphs faintly visible on this massive rock.

The top of the Big Rock has a grey lichen covering much of the surface. The foothills in the view are more impressive on a clear day.
