This is a collage painting done on wood which is part of my Save the Family theme. This depicts love and simplicity seen from a child's point of view.

This is my very first painting done for my favorite theme “Save the Family”. It is based on my own family. Gerry and I are in the top center and represent the beginning, foundation, and strength of the family. Our son, Sean, (5th child) is on the top left-hand side, he had meningitis at 10 months old and was in a coma for 4 days, we are lucky to still have him and without any side effects. Our 4 girls Kristina (1st born), Michelle (2nd child), Karen (4th child), and Diana (6th child) are in front of us. Brian, (3rd child) who we lost shortly after birth is in the far right-hand corner. The hearts represent love and family unity. The colours represent birth, family warmth, fear, and death. This is a mixed media painting in which I have used earth and shells amongst other things. The painting represents family life depicting the happy, sad, successful, and difficult times however, always maintaining the true love we have for one another throughout our life circle together.

The World is Full of Balances
Darkness and light
Goodness and evil
Sorrow and Joy
Brian Adam drew breath on this earth for only one hour
That is great sorrow
Yet this baby left behind a legacy of joy
A beautiful birth, an expression of a great love between
Man and wife - Gerry and Sonia
The closeness of family
Two beautiful daughters waiting at home for their parents
The warmth of friends here today
to help give strength to the people they love
God's will and love are demonstrated in ways which are often difficult for us to understand?
We must not doubt these but accept and live the moments
of joy as they are given to us

Frozen in time is a work that I did with plastic moving eyes stuck on mirrors. I am very anti war and know what fear is like, I don't know if you have ever experienced a fear which totally freezes you for a short period of time, well if you do you will be able to relate to this work perhaps. This work was done for a collaborative project called “Antinomy of War” done with the Moving Ethos Modern Dance Company. As you will appreciate this work is difficult to photograph so I decided to use it as a self portrait as well.
