This Northern-Pearly Eye flew up as I stepped into the leaves....luckily it perched up in a tree..and let me take a portrait!

I spotted a small nondescript butterfly flying weakly over the grasses and was delighted to find this Common Ringlet. A new species for me! I never saw another one for the entire trip. Not sure what their normal abundance is in central Pennsylvania. Not one that is found in Maryland.....yet.
