I'm stampolina and I love to take photos of stamps. Thanks for visiting this pages on flickr.
I'm neither a typical collector of stamps, nor a stamp dealer. I'm only a stamp photograph. I'm fascinated of the fine close-up structures which are hidden in this small stamp-pictures. Please don't ask of the worth of these stamps - the most ones have a worth of a few cents or still less.
By the way, I wanna say thank you to all flickr users who have sent me stamps! Great! Thank you! Someone sent me 3 or 5 stamps, another one sent me more than 20 stamps in a letter. It's everytime a great surprise for me and I'm everytime happy to get letters with stamps inside from you!

Landscapes of Austria (Grünau/Almtal)
Lake Alm, presented on this special issue stamp, lies on the northern edge of the Toten Mountain Range at 589 metersabove sea level in Upper Austria´s Salzkammergut. Even remote lakes and valleys of the Salzkammergut wereinvaded by mountain climbing and tourism, and so the exceedingly romantic countryside surrounding Lake Alm alsoappealed to tourists. Lake Alm became the starting point of many beautiful mountain tours. Today, alpine huts andwell-marked paths allow tourists to discover the wonderful world of the Toten Mountain Range. The Seehaus, ownedby the Kremsmünster Foundation, and the Deutsches House offer accommodation on Lake Alm, and the expansiveforests surrounding the lake attract hikers. A splendid game park with rare alpine wildlife was established betweenLake Alm and Grünau. The lake´s area measures 0.89 km2, it is 2.4 km in length, and it´s widest point measures 850meters. One part of the lake reaches 9 meters in depth, yet everywhere else it is less than 4 meters deep. The bottomis almost completely covered by a thick cushion of algae and aquatic plants. These impart a splendid hue to the lakewhich contrasts pleasantly to the dark green of the forests, the light gray/white of the limestone mountains, and thedeep blue of the sky. Understandably, Lake Alm and it´s surroundings were declared a nature reserve.
