First look at a Pine Siskin since October, 2012 (I may have seen one at my backyard feeder a few weeks ago, but I did not get a good look at it). This is a year of irruptions of Purple Finches, Pine Siskins, Red-breasted Nuthatches, and, supposedly, Evening Grosbeaks (I hope to see one, it would be a "life" bird).
