A97KUM a former WYPTE / Yorkshire Rider Roe Leyland Olympian paused briefly at Rawdon Cross Roads. It has been a while since a Roe Olympian stopped here ! Plenty have done though in the period after April 1990 through to when the final ones were withdrawn by firstgroup. This was a lucky example to escape scrap, randomly chosen to leave the fleet early, sourced for a organisation who had received funding for outreach work in the North East. 37 years old and yes it has a sedate pace and wont hurry for anyone but in return it holds the road like range rover, absorbs every imperfection with beautiful suspension and does exactly as asked. Now converted to semi auto...it is simply a joy to drive.
