One of the best photographs I've ever taken, a wide shot of people going to and fro across the various traffic islands in the middle of Piccadilly Circus, with the famous lighted billboards in the background.

This was July 2000, so the featured logos at Piccadilly Circus were Samsung, Coca-Cola, McDonald's, Carlsberg, Nescafé, TDK (which they seem to have made blue since I was last in London, when it was green), and Sanyo.

The Boots Chemists (pharmacy) below the giant McDonald's sign is where I bought the Kodak Advantix Camera I took this photo with.

The small-ish McDonald's franchise on Elgin Street in the southern part of downtown Ottawa.

I think they recycled the frame of the sign from something else that used to be there (probably a laundromat or something).

I really, really can't add anything else this month, since I've already nibbled away at most of my "rainy day" bandwidth that I was saving for art, but, if you want to see close-ups of the sign, here it is pointing left and pointing right.

Also, here's a somewhat blurry night shot of Rideau Street McDonald's (no tripod, unfortunately).

And, to complete the downtown Ottawa McDonald's trifecta, Stickguy has a nice shot of the Bank Street one.

While the main commercial drag of Merivale Road in Nepean is mostly either strip malls, fast food outlets, or standalone big box stores, there's also one old-fashioned indoor shopping centre, Merivale Mall, which is a medium-sized neighbourhood mall about on par with what the Beaconsfield Shopping Centre in Montreal's West Island was before it lost the Canadian Tire and the entire western half of the interior of the mall became like a ghost town with an SAQ.

It's not a destination mall like Bayshore or the Saint Laurent centre by any stretch of the imagination, but it does have a big Music World store by neighbourhood mall standards. And a Coles bookstore.
