The Wallace Monument appears out of a thick fog, on the summit of Abbey Craig, a hilltop near Stirling in Scotland. It commemorates Sir William Wallace, the 13th century Scottish hero.

My daughter, taken at the end of summer. This is a B&W treatment of a full colour original. Would be interesting to read some comments and thoughts on what works better. Original version

Scotland in the grip of winter... again! Particularly angry storm over Stirling Castle. Looks like north of here is pretty much cut off today... This isnt b&w... the world was monchrome this morning.

Stirling Castle is one of the largest and most important castles, both historically and architecturally, in Scotland. If you're interested in learning more, click here www.stirlingcastle.gov.uk/

The rugged remains of the once mighty Dunure Castle on the west coast of Scotland.

The tower is believed to date back to the 13th century, and was the seat of the Kennedys of Carrick. The castle has been abandoned since the end of the17th century.

You can find more info on Dunure Castle on Undiscovered Scotland.

I had a lot of debate over the crop of this with my "mentor" Jono... this is none of our initial suggestions... lol. I struggle with b&w, so constructive criticism welcome... thanks
