And look - another amazing super-structure in Beijing!
Over the Thanksgiving weekend, I've had a lot of family in town and been showing them all my unpublished stuff from Beijing, including this photo. They all remark on how impeccably modern and impressive the city has become. From what I understand, they have started bringing in more and more western architects to design innovative structures. I'm not sure who the architect here is... but it's very well done.
See that giant red velvet wall to the right? It's hiding a new display that's currently being built. I've never seen such an elaborate "under construction" wall!

I did a Dramatic Reading of Negative Amazon Reviews today at www.stuckincustoms.com/2010/02/15/dramatic-reading-of-neg... -- a new video hehe....
As for this photo -- Despite my kind Tweet to The Metropolitan Museum of Art, they would not let me take a tripod on the day I arrived. So, I was forced to do a hand-held HDR shot from the roof at sunset. It was a beautiful night across central park, and I did my best to hold it steady.
In Photomatix, I did choose to “Auto-Align” images. It did a pretty good job. I always suggest that you check “Do Not Crop”, so that you can line everything up easier later in Photoshop. When it auto-crops, it resets the 0,0 x/y origin and will mix up the alignment later on for final cleanup.

As far as I can tell, it doesn’t rain much here in the city. Rene and I happened to be still out after the photowalk when the rain started to fall. We got pretty excited and started taking photos like cray cray. This is a really cool area of town that goes right along the beach. Over to the right is just a 30 second walk out to the ocean.

I took this on the last PhotoWalk in London, so it's about time I post it! I won't be able to process the Austin ones for a bit... this is a busy time for me... you'll have to forgive me!
Half of the fun of the PhotoWalk is people posting and sharing photos after the event. Even though everyone is taking photos of the same stuff, it is cool to see so many different perspectives. I'm pretty sure we all took photos of the London Eye on that evening, and this is the one that I made.

Business in London
Walking along one side of the Thames after visiting some museums brought us to this business district. There was a misty rain for most of the day, so it set down a nice sheen of reflection. There's a tiny water canal that runs through the center here, and the line leads right to the Tower Bridge, which you can see in the distance.
