When I first arrived in Scotland it was the middle of a pretty long heatwave. Probably 75% of my trip was like that, clear blue skies, warm. All very nice, but I was quite pleased when the weather started to change later in the trip, around the time I was heading to Skye, creating a much more moody atmosphere.

Exploring the Old Town area of Edinburgh in the late summer evening. I had a bunch of fun wandering around here, a lot of the time recording vlogs with my 360 camera, for release soon. That building you see over on the left is St Giles Cathedral on the Royal Mile. It's from the 14th Century or something around that time... old town indeed!

Even though I'm spending more time in Glasgow, I've gotten most of my best photos in Edinburgh! I'm not saying Glasgow is not as scenic... I'm just saying, well, yes that is exactly what I am saying. But, I obviously love Glasgow. I've now made EIGHT (8) experimental videos there that are being edited together... if you watch my silly Instagram stories, then you have heard me talk in Dark Riddles about them. It's a somewhat unusual idea I had... and I'm not sure everyone will "get it" - but I think the right people will, and more will over time. They're not for everyone, but, hey, what is? I've also made a few of these videos in Edinburgh and other places in Scotland so far. Stu will get into editing these monstrosities as soon as we finish our wonderful road trips that I am so grateful for him arranging for us!
I took this photo in Edinburgh while doing my video thang there... this is the train station that backs onto the "Old Town" that has all the classic gothic buildings and olde-world charm and amazing streets that I love getting lost in... and then I find a pastry shop, make some amazing pastry decisions, and eat said pastries while continuing my wanderings with my camera and listening to music... Really loving Scotland!

Ahhh yes, the amazing Edinburgh castle! This is the spot I've always wanted to visit in Scotland... well, there are MANY places here I am excited to visit. I'm pretty well-traveled, but Scotland has always evaded me! You shall evade me no more, you awesome country, you! :)
Now, I've been posting some extremely ridiculous and probably inappropriate and mildly offensive videos to my Instagram stories and assembling the funniest ones atop my profile in "Funny Scotland," should you want to be a fly on the wall of some of these adventures. I'm not afraid to post offensive stuff. People gotta develop thick skins nowadays, hey?
I'm here for a while longer, then off to New York, Austin, Chicago, Burning Man, and LA... then finally back to the ranch in New Zealand. I hope all are well - and YES we are having the annual Burning Man Photowalk for sure!

One of the lovely little houses that I stayed in during my most recent exploration of Japan. My goal on that trip was to head out of the big cities and really get to know the normal day to day life of the wider country and it was an awesome experience.
