Klaune is home to some of Canada’s tallest mountains, and while the biggest mountains are far from view of the road, the mountains close to the highway aren’t exactly “small”. The impact of those mountains and icefields is still apparent, even far from the most dramatic spots. Kluane’s icefields gradually result in these lovely glacial rivers and lakes, creating that characteristic colour, with the right light, of course. In spring and summer, however, the park can also be home to wonderful wildflowers alongside these lakes - if you look closely at this lakeside scene, you’ll see a number of wild roses growing alongside this aspen tree. The breaks in the forest always create such an interesting and dynamic way to view scenes like this. As plants die and regrow, all sorts of dynamic scenes come to life - like this one! Neat!
