I just finished debuting my latest build, the "Tabletop Derby", this weekend at BrickUniverse Lexington (KY). It is a scaled up version of the "Desktop Derby" game that I have seen videos of online. Exited to be bringing the races to Brickworld Chicago next less than two weeks away!

A huge thanks to all of the "Orphans & Outliers" who contributed to the project; Daniel Church, Gil Glomshire (aka Deathdog1), Michael Frost, and Barbara Hoel who played major roles in bringing this display to life (and Micah Beideman who was on the ready to fill in any last-minute landscaping needs). Huge thanks also goes out to Matt Rowntree, Adam Myers, Noel Peterson, Paul Wolfe, Noah McDonell, Matt De Lanoy, Sean Mayo, and of course Simon Liu who all helped round out the display with a crowd of fun specators to watch the race. Everyone's efforts really turned this display into a crowd favorite.

PS - and if you watch closely, you will see that the racers change lanes...

PSS - and I nearly forgot to mention James Burrows, who had a tremendous rollercoaster display himself. He helped us out EMMENSLY by giving us a ton of pointers in troubleshooting, and in getting it up and running.

The Great Steambug Migration is nearing Chicago, and Mr. Mechtorian is rolling into town to take advantage of the situation... time to sell some snake oil to steambugs!!!

MOC notes: the sign rotates with the front wheels, pistons move with the back, the side stage folds up, skylight opens, and plenty of interior details...
