Gaganachukki falls aka Bluff at Shivanasamudra, Mandya district

My first ever attempt at long shutterspeed waterfall photography using a 10 stop equivalent do-it-yourself Neutral Density filter.

.
The island town of Shivanasamudra divides the river Cauvery into twin waterfalls. The Cauvery river splits into western and eastern branches. The western branch results in the twin waterfalls of Gaganachukki, whereas the eastern branch results in the Bharachukki falls. The Gaganachukki and Bharachukki falls are at a distance of approx 1 Km from each other. Asia's second hydro-electric power station after Shimshapura, is located at the waterfall and is still functional.

Shot from atop the Tangasseri Point Lighthouse station, Quilon/ Kollam (08 °52.7’ N 76°34.0’ E)

This pano is from 10 vertically composed shots. Pano shots require plenty of planning ahead which unfortunately I couldn't. And to make matters worse, the lighthouse keeper insisted that I get the shots quickly and get off his lighthouse ASAP since he was in preparation mode to turn the lights on. Perhaps some more planning next time ;)

Nevertheless, please give your feedback on the shot. I deliberately included part of the railing to portray a sense of height. Does it work?

Better when view in large. Please press "L" to view in large in lightbox
