The classic Holyoke Mall at Ingleside signage, which mimicks the Mary Tyler Moore Show font. With the mall completed in 1979, and the show well out of running at that time, the sign has remained an icon of the mall for almost 30 years against the unchanged ridged concrete walls at this mammoth mall along Interstate 91 in Holyoke which contends to be one of the Northeast's largest indoor shopping malls.

The Holyoke Mall at Ingleside has been an attraction and staple of I-91 since 1979 as a mammoth-sized mall but one that doesn't seem too big for it's own good. The classic wood-trim and funky planters still give this mall a comforting look of malls in their heyday before they were just neutered halls of white paint, uninspired decor, intrusive ads and pesky kiosks crowding every square inch of potential $pace. Though various fountains have been long removed, the mall still feels vintage looking down the stretching corridors in Spring 2007.
Waldenbooks was in its last year, Coldwater Creek fell soon after along with the chain several years later. Once ubiquitous circular wooden saucer seats, here since the beginning were removed for more comfortable couches. The neon lights have recently been retired in 2011 for modern hanging fixtures and the terrazzo flooring is now glossy white. The image of Holyoke Mall now aims to attract a more upscale tenants like Williams-Sonoma, Apple Store and others.
