You might ask why there's a small airplane hoisted above the pool-sized fountain at what's historically known as Rotterdam Square mall in Rotterdam, New York.
The model airplane was supplied to promote Empire State Aerosciences Museum.
The now mixed-use center is owned by VIA Entertainment, whose taken other dying shopping centers and mixed them up with Dave & Buster-style entertainment and a small aquarium to fill much vacant space and maintain traffic. The rest of the mall is struggling, held together by a cinema and other creative direction though steeped in dated tones of an aging Wilmorite mall.
