The owners at the 48-year established, roadside (once 24-Hour) reliable Donut Circus have called it closed.

It's not a monotonous Krispy Kreme or America Running on Dunkin', it's just one of the few slabs of independent pieces of Americana along US-1 in Fort Pierce, and its been beloved by locals for almost half a century.

Ernie and Sophie Sao would wake up at the crack of dawn, daily, to make the donuts, since 2010. During its last years, donuts would be nearly out of stock by 10AM.

On April 24, 2024, they declared it done.

The building, dating back to 1970, has been quickly sold in May and is slated to reopen as a new restaurant.
