"Pyrrhuloxia Flight and Feathers" by Patti Deters. A Pyrrhuloxia (cardinalis sinuatis) bird shows off vibrant red and brown under feathers while photographed mid-flight. The morning light is highlighting the beautiful bright orange under plumage on the wings and tailfeathers. These songbirds tend to be a bit shy, and I felt lucky to be able to capture one in flight! This particular bird was seen at Santa Clara Ranch in Starr County, Texas, USA. Thank you for viewing this picture.
