The Canadian-built robotic arm turns 16 today! It helped build the International Space Station, it berths spacecraft and can move external experiments and modules. We will be using it this Saturday when the Cygnus spacecraft arrives to capture it and berth it to the Unity module. A versatile machine I got to know it very well during the last spacewalk.

Aujourd’hui le bras robotique canadien fête ses 16 ans ! Il a aidé à construire la Station spatiale internationale et est régulièrement utilisé pour attraper des véhicules spatiaux. Il nous sert également à déplacer des modules et équipements extérieurs. Nous y aurons à nouveau recours samedi prochain pour capturer et amarrer le cargo ravitailleur Cygnus au module Unity. Une machine donc essentielle que j’ai appris à connaître en profondeur lors de ma dernière sortie dans l’espace...
