I was qualified on class 66’s when they were brand new to EWS in 1998. The cabs of GBRF 66763 are much modified to what I had worked on 1998-2001. Anyone with specific knowledge please correct me if I’m wrong but I suspect GBRF modified a batch of their 66’s to work in multiple with class 73’s on the sleeper services and this is one of the modified versions?

Clapham Junction station in around 1957, with scruffy 4-SUB 4752 in the platform.. The tracks on the right are not electrified at this time..
4752 was made up from an older three-car unit plus an extra trailer in 1951, and was withdrawn in April 1976, and scrapped in August. None of the original SR units have survived, but one of the BR-built examples has been preserved..
Today (2024) the station is a lot brighter and cleaner, and all tracks are electrified.. The old luggage lifts have recently been replaced by passenger lifts..
Restored from an under-exposed cyan/green-colour-shifted original..
