I was given this print about 35 years ago, and just come across it whilst having a sort out. Photographer unknown, and it just says on the back 819 Goliath piloting 823 Hermes on the 14:30 Paddington to Penzance at Exeter St Davids on 5 September 1968.
Thought it might be of interest, and wouldn't you loved to have been there?

A lone passenger is waiting on platform 5 at Reading as an unidentified western rolls into platform 4 with a down working. Lots of interest in this snapshot, the riverside buffet and bar, I wonder if it's still there, the BRUTE with Didcot chalked on it, A poster claiming the delights of Tenby. All changed now under the name of progress. 17 May 1974

Another couple of shots from my recently acquired collection. A 12 car Victoria to Newhaven harbour boat train formed of two 4 CEPS and a 4 BEP with 7102 leading, running through East Croydon on the down fast line.
7102 was one of the prototype units and is seen here almost brand new, still with it's original whistle, before being fitted with air horns. sometime between 1957 and 1960.
