This was my first visit to Philadelphia. It was an old and rusty city, but preserved the historical nuance not to be found anywhere else. My second visit did not take place until 1998 because my trips usually stopped in New York. In 1998, I went to Philadelphia for the celebration of the 200th anniversary of the American Association for Advancement of Science, of which I was a member. The meeting had an oppressive atmosphere because it was political - the president was also there. They did not allow any challenges to the academic establishment, those who did were thrown out of the conference hall. I kept my mouth zipped since I was the only non-white person there. I managed to interview those who were thrown out, but did not find any interesting ideas from them. Then I proceeded to Independence Hall, and found it surrounded by new but poorly designed high rise buildings, totally destroyed the old city's charm. I deleted all the photos made on that day.

Stopping my wagon to love the late maple forest, frosty leaves are redder than spring flowers.
____Du Mu (803-852)
Yes, I stopped my car to love the maple forest, as Mr. Du did 12 centuries ago.
