View Large and View On Black
This was the view I had when driving to the office on Friday morning. The light was golden and very bright - I had to use my sunglasses- , the sky pink, purple, white and blue. There is very few to see: some houses, a flock of birds and an endless horizon. And it was cold, very cold.

I've got this thing with stairs this week. Stairs in all sizes and shapes. I'm obsessed with it.

Really better to View Large On White
Part 1 of the new series with long exposures.
This one is shot on the beach of Scheveningen in The Hague. The part you see is part of the famous Scheveningen Pier. I will post more long-exposure shots this week.
Several of them shot in Scheveningen, others on Flushing Beach (Vlissingen).

You should really see this Large On White
Part 2 of the new series with long exposures.
This one is shot on the beach of Scheveningen in The Hague. The part you see is part of the famous Scheveningen Pier, taken while standing right under the enormous pier that also hosts a casino. If you want to know how this shot looks like in colour and treated by a colour expert then check out this version by isayx3 who used this same shot for his PP friday, just check it out, it's amazing.
Why would you take long exposure shots during broad daylight, someone asked me.
Well that can be for various reasons, but very often it is to capture motion in such a way it becomes smooth and solid. Like the small waves and ripples in the water in this shot that are flattened by the long exposure. It gives a more harmonious feel to landscape shots like these. Besides that, the idea of a certain period of time captured and visualized in one image or thought is something that has always amazed me. Time is such a strange concept...

It is better to view this one Large On Black
Part 3 of the new series with long exposures.
This one is shot on the beach/harbour of Flushing (Vlissingen) in Holland.
A different setting than the previous long exposure shots, a bit darker mood also.
I've been calling these shots long exposure shots but in fact they are medium exposure shots. Long exposure shots usually starts from 60 seconds and longer. You will see my long exposure shots from 10 minutes and longer in the near future.
