If you want to know how I processed this image, see some detailed outtakes, a bigger version and what my philosophy is behind this type of processing then head over to my blogpost here and for more in depth details I can recommend reading the book From Basics to Fine Art - B&W photography- architecture and beyond that you can see here , written by me and co-author Julia Anna Gospodarou.
My images are processed to be printed large. A collection of my work can be seen as large format prints at the Rotella galleries in NYC and Las Vegas.
This is my first photo since 6 months since I've been occupied lately with workshops, mentorships and writing books. This photo was taken in New York City on a very early morning at the Vision Explorers workshop. It's a tilt-shift shot consisting of 3 horizontally shifted images making up for a 3:1 panoramic shot. Each shot taken with the Formatt-Hitech IRND filters, totalling 16 stops per image and each image with a long exposure time of around 6 minutes.

Update December 28, 2013: Usually I never bump up my photos in my stream (I hate that) but the reason is the artistic NYC video impression created by Armand Dijcks in a very artistic way using innovative techniques like Long exposure slow motion.
Some notes: I've been using the brand new Hitech IRND Prostop2 filters generously provided by Hitech Format. For now I can say that I've definitely put aside my trusty B+W ND filters and will be using the Hitech IRND filters only: they're simply very neutral and they come as screw on and rectangular filters. As you know I'm very critical in my selection of filters, this is something I can really recommend.
These filters will become available first at Amazon and B&H in the weeks to come.
Thanks Rod Clark!

One exposure, one frame. Postprocessing involved contrasts and curves corrections and lots of dodging and burning.

The bridge modelling for BMW's worldwide press release...
This is one of the photos BMW has used to launch their new BMW 6 series concept coupe in their worldwide press release in September 2010. Click here for the BMW press release and the photos by BMW.
Also part of a series that earned me 2nd place in 2010 International Photography Awards (IPA 2010) in the category bridges.
I've recently found out that there were some discussions on Internet forums about photographing architecture. They basically claim that photographing architecture like bridges is simply plagiarism and absolutely no art since it disregards the 'real' artist, being the architect. I guess these guys really don't know what art and photography is all about. Does it really matter what your subject is in photographic art? What matters is HOW you capture and how you personally visualize it that defines if it is art or not...
I went back to the bridge. There was a thick fog. Although I calculated an exposure time of 256 seconds, I decided during the shot to double the exposure time since it was getting darker relatively fast. It turned out well.
I saw a Michael Kenna video very recently in which you could see the master at work in Japan, shooting his famous trees in the snow. And Michael Kenna hugged the tree just to get connected with the tree. So I've decided to give this bridge a big hug. I don't know if he likes me now, but I love this bridge anyway...

Still thinking of a title...
... and thinking...
Done thinking. Brain just exploded, or better yet, imploded. Ah well, titles are overrated anyway.
Somewhere in Amsterdam with Kees Smans
A few news items:
1. I took 1st place with my Frozen Music series images at the 2011 International Photography Awards last month.
2. I have planned some workshops in Europe and in North and South America next year. I'll be doing them with other award-winning photographers.
3. I'm still thinking of a title for this photo...
