Dear Father,
I really miss your voice these days...how sometimes you call work to ask how my day is going... Just remembering how your voice sounded brings on the pain today.

Even when i dreaded the long list of chores awaiting me coming home from work, I miss how you decorate the home with the warmth of your presence when I open the door...

I miss how you shake your head when i hug and kiss you before you go to bed...
It hurts so much father... to not see you and hear you... when I have been caring and providing for you all these years...

I really miss enjoying the laughter that comes at those rare times when things line up just right... Those times when I could leave the house knowing you were doing something or talking to someone that brought pleasure to your day... those were the times when I felt joy with my own life.

You defined the meaning of idle pleasure in my life... what it means to have a lazy sunday... to enjoy the sun of a hot summer afternoon shining through to the living room...

In the final months before you left, your appetite was not very good so we went out to eat every night. Yes, I also miss having you in the passenger side. You always told me that riding in the car while i drove was the most comforting part of going anywhere...

Oh the number of dimensions I can't count that your leaving has left holes in my being...
Where are you father? Are you happy? Have you developed a routine at your destination?

Today is just one of those days...
