While in random mode, I decided to take a deep dive into my archives, starting with this Steller's Jay photographed eleven years ago in Yosemite National Park.

I've had hundreds of sightings of this species over the years, but only a handful of photo ops. This was the first one.

Starting the year in random mode starting with my favorite wildlife subject. As you might guess, I'll be doing another moose safari this year. Not often do I get a photo op of a moose in water. This is the latest one, taken over two years ago. I'm due in '25.

The last day of 2024 brings the last of my '24 in review series.
We wrapped up our travel year with another trip to western South Dakota to visit three great parks including Badlands National Park where this shot was taken shortly after sunrise.
