While hiking in Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument, we saw this ominous looking storm approaching and decided to head to the car. The storm hit shortly after we reached the car...about eight drops of rain on the windshield, and that was it.

It's so hot that rock is melting! OK, that's a bit corny, but when I first saw the rock formation in the lower right of this shot, my first thought was that it looked like it was melting. Another fascinating rock formations from Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument in Utah.
