After a wet, foggy night this Muskox Bull was wet and a bit disheveled. As the fog cleared and the sun took over, he struck a nice pose, still trying to look his best for the photographer.

As I mentioned in a previous post, I found it challenging to get close to the muskox calves. This one was an exception...thanks to the trusty car blind.

The primary reason we chose to visit Alaska in June rather than our usual autumn timing, was to view spring Muskox calves. We weren't disappointed as we were able to see quite a few of these little charmers. Typical of wildlife, the moms were pretty protective, so it proved a bit challenging to get shots of the calves in the open. If I penetrated their safety zone, the cows would form a barrier between me and their youngsters. If I stood still for quite a while though, the herd would relax a bit allowing a few open shots.
