From our cruise along the Norwegian coast line with Hurtigsruten's "Trollfjord" in April 2022. The journey started in Bergen on April 10th and ended/turned in Kirkenes and back to Bergen again. Some people choose to do the roundtrip like I did and some to get off the ship in Kirkenes and fly or drive back to the south. You can bring your car on the Hurtigruten. Some people choose to do the sothbound trip back to Bergen only. Hurtigruten is not only for tourists that want to see Norway! It's also for the locals to go port to port that don't have any other options to travel than these ships with daily departures both ways. The Hurtigruten can be a ferry for some locals and an adventure cruise for others with 34 ports to visit. Some ports they will stay for only 10-15 minutes to pick up cargo and passengers and some ports they stay in for 2-4 hours so every you can explore the towns a little more. They also offer land excursions where you jump on one of their buses and you'll be back on the ship later the same day in another port. The options to cruise with Hurtigruten are many, but it was a fantastic cruise and a great way to see my own country.
