As hurricane Ophelia moved north it pulled with it sand from the Sahara and smoke from the forest fires in Portugal. These pollutants got taken high into the atmosphere where they cut out light from the blue end of the spectrum but allowed red to get through. This resulted in a very strange and unusual sunset on the evening Ophelia passed through. I managed to get a shot of this while in Cornwall for the storms.
Thanks for looking.
