I got some great clouds that day. Seeley's Furniture opened in 1946. The store is now closed, but the Art Deco/Streamline Moderne building still stands proud. 1800 S. Brand Blvd., Glendale CA.

Algemac's Coffee Shop was built in 1937, and served the area until 2006, when it closed. In 2008, it was gutted, and a non-descript apartment building went up in its wake.

But, at least the owners of the new building salvaged the old neon sign, and it now stands up on top of the building's offices.

I have a new series in mind, and here's the first one I've shot. I'm setting my sights on great typography found on Southern California apartment buildings. There is a lot to be found - what I'm trying to do is capture the type clean of anything else, except for the wall beneath the type, to really showcase it.

Should I continue? If I do, I promise you it will be a new obsession and I may never recover. Hmm... :)
