I took this photo at the Senjo-Ji Temple, also known as the Asakusa Kannon, in Tokyo, Japan.

Legend has it that in AD 628, two fishermen fished the statue of the Goddess of Mercy (Kannon) from the nearby Sumida River and built this temple for the Goddess Kannon. It is said that the statue remains in the temple, but no one is allowed to see it.
