I just returned from Australia, with a quick stop over in New Zealand. I spent most of my time in Melbourne, but wanted to share this photo I took over Sydney Harbour and the famous Opera House. Australia is an amazing place, but the 52 hour travel time (with multiple delays) back home is a killer.

St. Kilda Pier, in Melbourne, Australia, is a magical place at sunset. Couples, photographers and sightseers flock here to watch the sun go down over the bay. There are also many little penguins that inhabit the jetty and wander out just after dark.

The historic Shot Tower in Melbourne, Australia, is an amazing sight. It is located in a mall in the Central Business District right downtown. It is a little hard to walk a straight line after looking up at it for too long. I'm guessing the ale's from the pub near the tower might have had something to do with that also. The atmosphere here is particularly festive this time of year with all of the Christmas decorations.

The Melbourne Museum in Melbourne, Australia, is a great place to learn all about history of city. There are also other great exhibits there, including dinosaur, aboriginal art, science and many other amazing displays.

The Flinders Street Station in Melbourne, Australia, is Melbourne's main railway station. This historic 1910 building is located right downtown, next to the famous Yarra River. I took this HDR shot during my recent trip to Australia.
