RD26099vid. Steam on the Southern Region of British Railways finished on the 9th July, 1967. This sad occasion is remembered by running a steam hauled railtour over the one time Southern Region on the 9th July and, in 2023, the motive power was, appropriately, rebuilt Bulleid Merchant Navy Class Pacific 35018 BRITISH INDIA LINE.

RD24248vs. The Ruislip Lido Railway’s 2-4-0ST+T MAD BESS being turned on the turntable at Willow Lawn before heading back to Woody Bay with a permanent way train. MAD BESS is a scaled down version of the Ffestiniog Railway’s ex Penrhyn Quarry Railway BLANCHE.

The 12 inch gauge Ruislip Lido Railway is in Middlesex, north west London and the photo was taken during the 2023 gala weekend which was held on the 13th and 14th May.

RD7867vs. A train of London Underground Bakerloo Line 1972 tube stock. This is now the oldest rolling stock in use anywhere in the U.K. apart from some of the preserved carriages that can be found on heritage railways.

Although the ‘72 stock is due for replacement, this may not happen for some time – the late 2030s or even the early 2040s according to Wikipedia.

D7182. The Bell Boeing V-22 Osprey is a cross between an aeroplane and a helicopter. The rotors are turned to the horizontal position like a helicopter for take offs and landings and then swivelled to the vertical position so that it can be flown as a conventional aeroplane.
