By comparing this reference shot of Jungle Road taken using TresEd with the next shot, shows how this scene is now looking in the new island. Shots like this really highlight the poor distribution of vegetation and very confusing level design and texture work. Towards the end of the games development, scripts were used to cull the vegetation in an attempt to improve performance. This resulted in the clumps of trees that can be seen here, which if adjusted manually and evenly spread throughout the levels, would have made for a much more attractive game. The sheer number of trees and objects that are in a single Trespasser level is truly amazing. This game continues to blow me away when i take into consideration the year it was made, and i honestly get chills when i think about just how sedate the final game was compared to its earlier conceptions. I just cant understand for the life of me why a developer has not brought this game back to life.

What do you think?
Trespasser Rocks! Check out all that vegetation!
This was from 1998, 9 years before Crysis!
It kind of makes my version look bare doesn't it? I have not finished my scene yet so it will be a lot more populated soon.
I'm not into over saturating my levels with excess vegetation though. I'm more interested in precise and realistic placement along with subtle and controlled texturing to create a more realistic look.

Scale seems off, but this is because of the Trespasser engine having a different style of rendering. It makes everything look further away then it is in the CryEngine. It has taken me a while to adjust to this rendering difference, and i've been unable to replicate it with different FOV's.
The Brachiosaurs also throw the scale off, as they are undersized.
