Let the madness begin.
Carnival season kicks off tomorrow night in New Orleans with the Krewe of Joan of Arc parade through the French Quarter.
The beads in these photos are vintage glass Mardi Gras beads strung into necklaces, made and given to me by a friend. She also made the earrings on the second row left with the red skulls. The earrings above them were bought on my first visit to New Orleans in 1992. Iβd bought them for a friend, but I decided to keep them. The house was made by a local Nola artist and sold at the shop I worked at, Forever New Orleans. It looks like my home in TremΓ©, except for the colours.
Letβs hope for an uneventful Mardi Gras season. Only joy and fun and love allowed!
Laissez les bons temps rouler!
