Mickey Rooney (1920-2014) had one of the longest careers in cinematic history.
As a child, Mickey Rooney first appeared on film in 1927 and he made his last appearance in 2014. As a teenager, he was a superstar playing Andy Hardy in 14 films between 1937 and 1946, and a final film in 1958. With Judy Garland, he became a successful song-and-dance team. Rooney's breakthrough-role as a dramatic actor came in Boys Town (1938) opposite Spencer Tracy as Father Flanagan.The popularity of his films made Rooney the biggest box-office draw in 1939, 1940 and 1941.
