'Got Sand?' On Black
Interstate 8 between Yuma, Arizona and El Centro, California.
The Imperial Sand Dunes are the largest mass of sand dunes in California. This dune system extends for more than 40 miles along the eastern edge of the Imperial Valley agricultural region in a band averaging five miles in width. It is roughly bordered on the west by the Coachella Canal which delivers Colorado River water to the fertile agricultural valley to the north.
A major east-west route of the Union Pacific railroad skirts the eastern edge. The dune system is divided into 3 areas. The northern most area is known as Mammoth Wash. South of Mammoth Wash is the North Algodones Dunes Wilderness and the largest and most heavily used area begins at Highway 78 and continues south just past Interstate 8.

'Got Teeth' On White and Recent Photos
All of these Sharks teeth and fossils were found at Manasota Beach in Florida. We normally don't use a "florida snow shovel" (used for raking teeth and fossils from sand). Instead, if you really love to get in the water, grab a fry basket from your deep fryer.
Along the Venice area beaches, you'll find plenty of evidence that incredible numbers of sharks once lived nearby. Besides sharks teeth, fossils of other marine creatures are also found in this area because millions of years ago most of Florida was under water.
Collecting prehistoric sharks teeth has been a favorite pastime of visitors and residents of the Venice area for years. They may be black, brown, or gray, depending on the minerals in the soil in which they have been buried. They range in size from one eighth inch to three inches, and sometimes larger but more uncommon.
For millions of years, sharks have lived and died in the Gulf of Mexico. Dead sharks sink to the ocean floor where they are covered by layers of sand and silt. Over time, the cartilage of their bodies disintegrates. Water and storm action eventually sweeps the sand away, exposing the teeth. Some are washed up on shore with the changing tides and waves.

In 1991 Morton purchased the North American Salt Company plant near Grantsville, Utah. Using 15,000 acres of evaporation ponds, Morton continues to produce and distribute varying grades of salt for human and livestock consumption, water softening, and deicing.
