Latourell Falls - Columbia River Gorge - Oregon. The 249 foot high, 20 foot wide Latourell Falls cascades down a cliff on the north side of Pepper Mountain. Water flow is significant only in the late Winter and Spring months. Though you can view Latourell Falls from the highway, a short, paved, slightly downhill, path takes you to the base of Latourell Falls. You can also walk behind the waterfall.

'Wahkeena Creek' Large On Black
I decided to go in the woods and start practicing "slow water" photos. This is Wahkeena Creek located in the Columbia Gorge Historic Highway Area, Multnomah County, Oregon.

I am done hiking for the day - the high wind and spray from all the waterfalls left everything cold and wet. Latourell Falls is usually the first waterfall seen along the Columbia Gorge Scenic Highway, located off of Interstate 84 in Multnomah County, Oregon. The falls plunge 249 feet (some say 229 feet) over a massive wall of columnar basalt, some of the best formations in the Pacific Northwest, before cascading hastily towards the Columbia River. This waterfall is usually most recognized for the large patch of bright yellow lichen adorning the cliff face to the right of the falls.
