On November 21, Ukraine celebrates the Day of the Airborne Assault Forces, which falls on the Day of the Archangel Michael.

Архангел Михаил считается главнейшим из ангелов, в число которых входят Гавриил, Уриил, Варахаил, Иегудиил, Рафаил, Селафиил и Иеремиил. По преданию, именно Михаил возглавил ангелов во время битвы с Сатаной, сбросив и других падших ангелов с небес.
