...seriously though, it is one of only 25 International Dark Sky Parks in the world, and the stars are incredible--you could see the Milky Way (pictured) with the naked eye, and I also saw dozens of shooting stars as well. The park holds astronomy-related events throughout the year, and there are also plenty of typical state park activities: fishing, canoeing, horse trails, pool, etc... (no they're not paying me to say that). Virginia people, I highly recommend a weekend trip, it's worth the trek: it's less than two hours away from Richmond.
