Roughly one and a half years ago I received a LEGO Gel Pen as a gift. I immediately imagined it as a Railgun and have been thinking about using it in one of my builds since. And the Fashion Robots presented the perfect opportunity to finally implement that idea.

As you can see the result is quite a bit bigger than all my previous Bots. To incorporate the clothing, which this time is a red pants from LEGO Scala, I gave the mech additional arms at the waist, similar to the look of a Kangaroo. This type of design is quite popular among mech concept artists. However this build is not based on any particular piece of artwork and instead was mostly driven by my desire to incorporate the new (or not so new anymore?) red wedge plates .

This is also the first Fashion Bot which does not feature any custom prints or decals. I think the original decorated LEGO parts offer enough detail. Also, I really liked the clean look of the red surfaces and therefore refrained from cluttering them with logos or texts. I did add some custom chromed elements, but apart from that it is completely made with original LEGO elements.

This is the second to last Fashion Bot. I am still waiting for some parts for the last one, so I might have to skip next week and instead post some different builds from last year.

Hope you have enjoyed the series so far!

Just like I did with some of my Titans, I wanted to give the Gekko a fitting Background. So I built this small diorama inspired by the opening of MGS 4.

Obviously Snake is hiding under the box, but he isn't the only one hiding in this scene. You can check my Twitter to see who is sneaking behind the wall!

And if you want to build your own Gekko, you can get the instructions here: gum.co/GEKKO

Hope you like it! :)

4th and for now final Titanfall-vignette.

For this build I wanted to use the very first Titan I designed, the Stryder-class from the first Titanfall game. This little diorama is a bit different from the others, because it is not directly based on a multiplayer map. Instead, it is inspired by the concept art for Titanfall's third DLC "IMC Rising".
In addition to the forklift, I also included the Gremlin, which I designed last year.

And sorry, no tree this time! :D

As I said this is for now the final Titanfall-vignette. I really enjoyed making them, but they require a lot of different coloured parts. So I am not sure how long it will take me to collect enough to build dioramas for the remaining Titans.

Hope you guys like them! :)

The ninth and (for now) final fashion robot. I loved designing all of them and I started to experiment more and more, the longer the series went on. So I wanted the last entry to be a completely different design.

Like always, Peucaea features original LEGO clothing: Its legs are covered by two tan pants from LEGO Scala. I chose dark tan as the primary colour as it complements the pants quite well.

Like Piranga, Peucaea has no custom decals but solely uses original printed parts to add the necessary details. Because it is a weapons platform, I also added a rocket launcher in addition to the main turret. I originally designed it for Piranga, but did not end up using it. So I am glad, I could re-incorporate it here.

I hope you enjoyed this little detour of some original design ideas! :)

Here it is, my last build of the year: Alfheim from God of War (2018)

I have never played a God of War game before (just seen playthroughs of them), so I went into the new one without any expectations. And this game left me speechless! It is an incredibly well written and designed game. So of course I had to end this year with a model inspired by it.

Originally I played with the idea of building a Troll or another sculpture from the game. But since I built a lot of creatures this year, I wanted to push myself into another direction. So I built my first real diorama in years.

If you have played God of War, you know that you spent a lot of time riding a boat. And those somber moments with Kratos and Atreus trying to bridge the distance between them while journeying through the realms, are at the core of God of War.
Additionally, arriving in the 2nd realm was a magical moment for me. Experiencing the scale and beauty of this game was breathtaking.
So I decided to capture that moment of them visiting Alfheim in my build.

Since this is a diorama, I could implement some more ideas and aspects of the world e.g. Sindri's Workshop or the pathways and temples typically found in Alfheim.

Hope you like the model! :)
I had the opportunity to work on a lot of fun projects this year, and I finished more builds than any prior year.
THANK YOU ALL so much for the continuous support!
See you next year!
