The clock at Musée d’Orsay in Paris, France, symbolizes the inevitable, unstoppable passage of time. I was 35 when I took this photo. I turn 40 today. Roughly half my life is behind me, and half my life is in front of me, if I'm lucky.

It was so cold outside that I had to dry vapor from the lens as I got the camera from my backpack. Well worth it of course, as the gothic revival church provided a beautiful space. It was built in 1891 and designed by Swedish architect Adolf Melander.
