Wai'oli Hui'ia Church, at 5-5393A Kuhio Highway, was built in 1912. The green shingled church, built in the American Gothic architectural style, houses the old Mission Bell, which was acquired in 1843, in its belfry tower. The Wai`oli Hui`ia Church has had a continuous record of service since 1834, first established by American Christian Missionaries as a Congregational Church, and since 1957, as a United Church of Christ. The timber frame and plaster Mission Hall next to the curch dates to 1841 and is the oldest surviving church building on the island of Kaua'i.

The St. Regis Princeville's beach, protected by the Anini Reef, fronts the waters of Hanalei Bay.
The St. Regis Princeville Resort, at 5520 Ka Haku Road, is located in the moku (land division) or Halele'a (the house of joy), historically kula lands available to the maka'ainana or common person for cultivation and fishing. The site of the hotel was known as Pu'u Poa or Pu'u Pa'oa-- Pu'u meaning mountain and Pa'oa meaning the staff of the Fire Goddess, Pele who when searching for a new home would strike her staff into the earth to create a new crater. Directly below the hotel are remnants of an ancient Hawaiian fishpond built in prehistoric time. Known as Kamo'omaika'i it was one of the few kuapa (ocean wall) type fishponds on Kaua'i.

The Hanalei Dolphin Fish Market is part of the Hanalei Dolphin Center at 5-5016 Kuhio Highway, just around the corner from The Hanalei Dolphin Restaurant, which has been a north shore favorite since it opened its dining room doors in 1977 along the Hanalei River.

Queen's Bath, a large tide pool surrounded by igneous rock cairns at the base of the Princeville sea cliffs, is accessible via a short trail. Named after Queen Emma, wife of Kamehameha IV, who visited here with the king in 1860, the natural "pool" carved into the lava shelf is the size of several large swimming pools. When the surf is obliging, usually during the summer, the water can be clear and calm. During the winter months, however, the surf can be pounding and a pool may not even be visible.
