The Daniels and Fisher (D&F) Tower, at 1101 16th St., was built as part of the Daniels, Fisher & Co. dry goods store in 1910 to the design of architect Frederick Sterner. The tallest structure west of the Mississippi at the time, it stands 325-feet tall, with a four-sided 20-foot clock tower, with Seth Thomas closcks with six-foot hands. The slender tower has a 32-foot square plan and is faced in blond brick and creamy terra cotta. A 2½ ton bell occupies the top two floors of the building, which was modeled after The Campanile at the Piazza San Marco in Venice. Daniels & Fisher later bought out by the May Company in 1958, and the store vacated the tower. When the adjacent five-story emporium was demolished in the early 1970's, the tower was saved and renovated into lofts and businesses in 1981 by Gensler and Associates.

One Tabor Center, at 1200 17th Street, was built in 1984 by Kohn Pederson Fox Associates. The 408-foot tall postmodernist skyscraper is attached to a shopping center. Originally, a twin office building was to be built next to One Tabor. However, the local economy soured as the oil boom ended and plans were put on hold.
