I assume that the Anhinga took its cue from the young Brown Pelican and did fly away because the Pelican held its ground. The Anhingas are not the most approachable bird on the bayou, so to get one to stick around like this is a nice treat. Same time and same place, but just a bit farther down the sagging tree perched the Anhinga which was willing to do a bit of posing as well. Old Friend adds its features and texture to this scene.
