Not only did the day begin on a high note but it ended rather nicely just prior to departing. The Brown Pelicans have returned and a couple seem to be setting up shop on the bayou. They usually outpace me in the canoe and I rarely get close enough to them before they depart into the distance but there were several around and a couple of them were fairly cooperative. This particular character was doing a bit of showing off as he searched for his next meal on Armand Bayou. That is Bay Area Park in the background in this capture.

I’m not a huge fan of photos that are not square with the world and this one is no exception. I made my living as a draftsman in life and in that field EVERYTHING has to be straight and true in the drawing, or it junk so that’s where my obsession with things being square comes from. I would straighten this photo, but that would clip the wingtips of the BIG bird departing the scene and I refuse to do that as well. Therefore, it is forever skewed. I know, I know!!!
Tree ornaments hang on the underside of the limb and I’ve trying to show photos of Nuthatches to them, but they just don’t seem to understand and just snap their beaks at me. Disrespectful character!!!. Okay, it’s just another perched juvenile Brown Pelican on my favorite tree on the bayou. Photo taken on Armand Bayou.

A capture that gives you a decent view of this young Brown Pelican on the wing and backed up by the boardwalk at Bay Area Park in the background. The boardwalk in the distance is a part of the boardwalk that was seen in the previous capture. This is one of the widest parts of Armand Bayou as it runs past Bay Area Park and makes its way into Lake Mark Kramer.
Had issues with Flickr again today and the Flickr team had to once again work on the activity feed so that I could see everyone’s photos. I hope it’s functioning properly now.
